This relief carving is on an older building, 297 Victoria Street,
near the Ryerson Image Center.
Definitely has a sub-text! Quite lovely.

CONTACT  opened in Toronto yesterday. This month long celebration of photography is the biggest photo exhibition in the world. The Canadian Art Foundation arranged school tours of the many galleries involved, so today seventy five students from Riverdale C.I. Art Department left with their art teachers, Robin and Dave, in a bustle of forms and final instructions. I'm supervising the dozen or so students who stayed at school. They deftly upload images to art history essays, scan objects and artwork into Photoshop, and generally display a facility with computers that I dream of. Tomorrow I'll visit some of the galleries myself and post photos of what I see for your viewing pleasure. Please check back for highlights!
